Comprehensive Grants
Building Stronger Organizations and a Thriving Cultural Community
Comprehensive Grants focus on strengthening the stability and capacity of cultural organizations in Vancouver. These grants provide unrestricted, multi-year funding to support operating costs, upgrade technology, sustain ongoing programs, invest in research and development, or expand free and low-cost programs for the community.
Offered on an annual cycle, funded organizations can reapply. Comprehensive Grants help maintain consistent cultural offerings that contribute to Vancouver’s identity and vibrancy.
Award: $100,000–$300,000
Timing: Multi-year grants, open on an annual cycle
Eligibility
To apply, your organization must meet these requirements:
- The main purpose and majority of activities must advance or preserve arts, culture, heritage or science
- Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit incorporated in Washington State and recognized by the IRS. If your organization is not a 501(c)(3) or if you are an individual, you can apply with a nonprofit Fiscal Sponsor. You must include a letter of commitment from them with your application
- Have at least two years of experience providing public cultural programs or activities in Vancouver
- Have an official business address in Vancouver. Organizations outside the city may apply if at least 55% of their public programming happens in Vancouver
